Working for happiness.
There was once a businessman on a vacation, who was sitting by the beach, near the sea shore, of a small village.
As he sat, he saw a fisherman rowing a small boat towards the shore having caught quite few big fish.
The businessman was impressed and asked the fisherman,
“How long does it take you to catch so many fish?”
The fisherman replied,
“Oh, just a short while.”
“Then why don’t you stay longer at sea and catch even more?”
The businessman asked astonished.
“This is enough to feed my whole family,”
the fisherman replied.
The businessman then asked,
“So, what do you do for the rest of the day?”
The fisherman replied,
“Well,
I usually wake up early in the morning,
go out to sea and catch a few fish,
then go back and play with my kids.
In the afternoon, I take a nap with my wife,
and in the evening, I join my buddies in the village for a drink, we play guitar, sing and dance throughout the night.”
The businessman offered a suggestion to the fisherman.
“I am a PhD in Business Management.
I could help you to become a more successful person.
From now on, you should spend more time at sea and try to catch as many fish as possible.
When you have saved enough money, you could buy a bigger boat and catch even more fish.
Soon you will be able to afford to buy more boats, set up your own company, your own production plant for canned food and distribution network.
By then, you will have moved out of this village to a big city, where you can set up Head Quarter to manage your other branches.”
The fisherman asked,
“And after that?”
The businessman laughed,
“After that, you can live like a king in your own house, and when the time is right, you can go public and float your shares in the Stock Exchange, and you will be rich.”
The fisherman asked,
“And after that?”
The businessman said,
“After that, you can finally retire,
you can move to a house by the fishing village,
wake up early in the morning,
catch a few fish, then return home to play with kids,
have a nice afternoon nap with your wife,
and when evening comes, you can join your buddies for a drink, play the guitar, sing and dance throughout the night!”
The fisherman was puzzled,
“Isn’t that what I am doing now?”
moral of the story is:
Each one must realise the objective of a happy life,
as each one has a different happiness,
and be wise to achieve happiness with minimal effort.
To understand that different people have different happiness,
which they achieve by different ways,
as they have different strengths and skills.
To respect others happiness.
As every one is different.

The True Love
One day, his wife, who had very long hair asked him to buy her a comb
for her hair to grow well and to be well-groomed.
The man felt very sorry and said no. He explained that he did not even have enough money
to fix the strap of his watch he had just broken.
She did not insist on her request.
The man went to work and passed by a watch shop, sold his damaged watch at a low price
and went to buy a comb for his wife.
He came home in the evening with the comb in his hand ready to give to his wife.
He was surprised when he saw his wife with a very short hair cut.
She had sold her hair and was holding a new watch band.
Tears flowed simultaneously from their eyes, not for the futility of their actions,
but for the reciprocity of their love.
MORAL:
To love is nothing, to be loved is something,
but to love and to be loved by the one you love,
that is EVERYTHING.
Never take love for granted. :)

990 Knowledge Heals Minds Towards Peace.
I remember a childhood story (Panchatantra). A few Learned Scholars once came across an Dead Lion while walking in forest. These scholars knew how to inject Life into the dead animals. Thus they performed a ritual and soon the dead Lion was alive. The Lion after coming back to Life obviously killed these scholars who had given it the new Life.
Similarly, we must be careful of our deeds and actions. Instead of just injecting Life into the dead Lion, if these scholars would have injected Peace and Compassion into its mind. These scholars would have achieved a real better change, by saving their Lives. Thus healing the quality mind is the priority. Thus a peaceful mind creates an healthy body. Quantity is valuable only when it has Quality. Good Humble Character is the Priority, to create a better society. Body Strength is valuable only while it is used to enhance peace and humanity. Being Constructive, Not Destructive.
Knowledge must be used to achieve a noble peaceful purpose. Theoretical knowledge without the practical experience and commonsense is useless. Lots of wealth and power is meaningless without peace.
Distribute Knowledge to Heal the Minds towards Peace and Healing.

Cutting a Big Giant Huge Tree.
In search of Wood to Manufacture Furniture.
They came across a Giant Tree, it's base, trunk circumference was so big that,
All Five men joining hands together could Not Connect the entire Tree.
It was so Tall that it almost reached Hundreds of meters towards the Sky.
"Let's not waste our time with this tree,"- said the Master Carpenter.
"It would take us Longer Time to cut it down. It would take a Lot of Labor.
Even after cutting, it would be difficult to Carry it to our work place.
If we wanted to make a Ship out of that Heavy trunk, the ship would Sink.
If we tried to use it to build a Roof, the walls would have to be Wide and Strong.
Let us cut Smaller Trees which can serve our Necessity.
Which might be Quicker and Easier, to perform our daily work."
The group continued on its search while One of the Junior Assistants remarked:
"Such a Huge Big Tree and Why is it of No Use to anyone ?"
The Master Carpenter said:
"This is a very Rare Tree, which is not Common.
If it had been like all the others, we would have cut it down.
But because it had the courage to be different,
it will remain Alive and Strong for a Longer time.
Until it Dies of it's Natural Death."

Sixth Sense - Intuition - Belief & Faith.
The priest gathered everyone for a pilgrimage up to the mountain.
There they would do a collective prayer, asking for the rain to fall again.
In the group, the Priest noticed a Boy wearing a Raincoat.
"Are you crazy?" he asked the boy.
"It hasn't rained in this region for five years,
and the heat from hiking up the mountain will sweat you.
You might fall sick."
The boy replied:
"I have a cold, priest, and i also believe it might rain.
If we are going to ask God for rain, can you imagine our return from the mountain?
It will be a flood and I need to be prepared."
At this moment, they heard a great roar coming from the sky,
and the first drops began to fall.
It sufficed the faith of a boy in a miracle, it was proved.
that even the most prepared Priest didn't believe in.

Grapes: Destiny Brings what Belongs to You
One day, a Farmer knocked at a School door.
When the Doorkeeper opened the door,
the farmer stretched out a magnificent bunch of grapes to him.
“Dear brother Doorkeeper, these are the most beautiful grapes produced in my farm.
And I come here to give them to you as a gift,” said the farmer.
“Thank you. I will take them immediately to the Teacher,
who will be happy about your offer,” said the doorkeeper happily.
“No. I brought them for you,” said the farmer.
The doorkeeper asked surprised “For me?” because he thought,
he didn’t deserve such beautiful gift of nature.
“Yes!” the farmer insisted, “Because whenever I knock at this door, you open it.
Whenever I needed your help, because of the harvest being destroyed by drought,
you gave me a piece of bread, and a cup of coffee.
I want this bunch of grapes to bring you a little of the sun’s love,
of the rain’s beauty,
and of God’s miracle,
as God made it grow so beautifully.”
The Doorkeeper placed the bunch of grapes in front of him,
and spent the morning admiring it.
As the bunch of grapes was really gorgeous,
he decided to give it to the Teacher as a gift,
who had always stimulated him with words of wisdom.
The Teacher was very happy about the grapes,
but remembered that there was a brother who was sick at the school,
and thought, “I will give him the bunch of grapes.
May be, it might bring some joy to his life.”
And so he did. However, the grapes didn’t stay very long with the sick brother,
because he thought, “The Cook has been taking care of me for such a long time,
nourishing me with the best food available.
I am sure he will appreciate it.”
When the Cook brought his meal at the lunch time, he gave him the bunch of grapes.
“They are yours,” said the sick man,
“as you are always in contact with the produce that nature offers;
you will know what to do with this work of God.”
Cook was fascinated by the beauty of the bunch.
So perfect, he thought, that there is no one better, to prize them as the store-keeper;
as he was responsible for the guard of the food store,
and many at the school saw him as a holy man;
he would be able to value the marvel of nature.
The store-keeper, on his turn, gave the grapes as a gift to the youngest student,
so that he could understand that God’s work is found in the smallest details of creation.
When the student received it, his heart was filled with the glory of the Lord,
because he had never seen such a beautiful bunch of grapes.
At the same moment, he remembered the first time he came to the school,
and the person who had opened the door to him;
it was this gesture, that allowed him to be in that community of people,
who knew how to value miracles today.
Before the nightfall, he took the bunch of grapes to the doorkeeper.
“Eat it and enjoy it,” he said.
“Because you spend most of your time here alone,
and these grapes will make you very happy.”
The doorkeeper understood that the gift had really been destined to be with him,
so he savored each grape of that bunch and slept happily.
The circle was closed — the circle of happiness and joy,
which always stretches out around the generous people.
Thus sometimes destiny brings back the things which are destined to us.

Sow the noble seeds of mankind.
underneath which ran a spring of water.
When he was about to leave he turned to the tree and said:
Tree, oh, tree, with what should I bless you?
Should I bless you that your fruit be sweet? Your fruit is already sweet.
That a spring of water should run beneath you? A spring of water already runs beneath you.
There is one thing with which I can bless you:
May it be God's will that all the trees planted from your seed should be like you...
At the same time we need to appreciate the good people.
Moral: Always be humble and noble, thus the seeds of mankind be sown.

Wicked: Monkey’s Justice for two cats

The first cat said.
A fight started between them and they were unable to find a solution.
He thought “How foolish the cats must be. Let me take the advantage of their quarrel”. He came to the cats and said in a loud voice. "Don't fight. I will do justice. Let me share the butter among you both". Thus the cats gave the butter to the monkey thinking that he will do justice by distributing it equally between them.
The monkey split the butter into two parts. He shook his head and said, "Oh! One is bigger and the other is smaller". He ate a little bit of the bigger share to make it smaller. But the bigger share now had become smaller than the other. Thus he again ate from the other. He repeatedly ate part by part from both the shares to make them equal. At the end there was nothing left to share. Thus the poor cats were disappointed and realized their mistake of fighting over the butter.
Moral: When two quarrel, the third takes the advantage.

We have to resolve the issues peacefully. We have to put our best efforts with calmness, gentleness, love and compassion.
Once a Landlord employed two Gardeners who had their duties on alternate days. They disagreed about how the garden should be. One would till the land, and the other would come and undo the other’s efforts. This went on for months. They kept undoing the other’s work and doing things their own way. At the end, the land was barren and infertile. All their efforts were in vain.

Religion: Blind Men And The Elephant.

The first blind man touched the elephant leg and reported that it "looked" like a tree trunk.
The second blind man touched the elephant’s stomach and said that the elephant was a wall.
The third blind man touched the elephant ear and said that it was a fan.
The fourth blind man touched the elephant’s tail and described the elephant as a piece of rope.
The fifth blind man felt the elephant's tusks and described it as a spear.
And the sixth blind man rubbed the elephant’s snout and got very scared because he thought it was a snake.
All of them got into a big argument about the "appearance" of an elephant.
The Buddha asked the citizens: "Each blind man had touched the elephant but each of them gives a different description of the animal. Which answer is right?" "All of them are right," was the reply.
"Why? Because everyone can only see one part of the elephant. They are not able to see the whole animal. The same applies to God and to religions. No one will see Him completely."

Hidden: Two Rich Merchants and a Thief.

People of that city used to respect both but in a different manner. They knew that the miser merchant was rich and greedy so they respected him in fear, as they were afraid of his hidden secret witchcrafts. Where as they also respected the generous merchant who was good at heart and in turn did justice to the citizens.
There was a famous thief in the same city who was well known for his wicked robbing tricks. Obviously he was constantly in search of valuable treasures. He saw both the merchants and thought of how to rob their rich treasures. After thinking for a long time he came to a conclusion that it would not be possible to rob the generous merchant who had no secret treasures but had invested everything in the open world without hiding anything. He thought it would be possible to rob the miser greedy merchant who had hidden his treasures. Thus he made a plan and was looking for an opportunity to fulfill his bad desire.
Once when there were celebrations in the city, when everybody were completely lost in the pleasure of joy and celebration, he mysteriously robbed the treasures of the greedy miser merchant.
Moral of the story: Hidden richness will be robed easily. Money is like Manure, Spread it and it does good. Pile it up in one place and it Stinks.

Healing is contagious:

What happens when “red hot iron” is immersed in “cold water”? It neutralizes, becomes normal, its nature, things always tend to return to the nature. What happens when a calm, gentle, humble and stable person interacts with an arrogant, harsh, rude, and short tempered person? It’s transformation, conversion from one form to another, bad to good. There will be some reaction. It will take some time to neutralize and to retain the normal form. It’s always better and constructive when anger is converted to forgiveness. Arrogance is converted to calmness. Unstable is converted to stable. Fear is converted to hope and joy. Never loose hope in order to achieve a good purpose.

957 A Terrible Fight Between Two Wolves:

What is happiness and what makes us happy, and why are people not afraid of death?
When one is completely soaked in knowledge, they would definitely commit efforts to serve the mankind.
To heal and cure the humanity, to bring peace. They would experience a deeper sense of happiness and gratitude. Such a person would have very few enemies. But certainly he may have a few jealous enemies, enemies who are affected by such noble deeds, and they may even try to destroy the noble man, but the one with the noble deeds, with happiness, would be free from fear, of destruction,
As they realize that they are alive only because they are happy. The moment they are unhappy, when they are unable to achieve their purpose, to serve humanity, their life would have no meaning as well. Being alive would be of no use either. Thus many great souls, who have been assassinated by their enemies, while performing their humble deeds of compassion and love, to serve mankind, never had any fear of death, as they experienced great enthusiasm and happiness while walking there path of peace and love. It seems they preferred dieing only once with a smile, instead of dieing every moment with fear, regret and repentance.
Within ourselves is a fountain of bliss, a fountain of joy. While meditation helps us to answer all our questions, to clarify all our fears, helps to make our future efforts towards peace and brotherhood, to convert enemies to friends, to convince enemies towards understanding knowledge, one would have no fear when they would have no enemies, thus meditation helps create the truth, light, love, where there is no guilt nor fear. Psychologists might have a defined term for this state, as nirvana.

Why We Shout In Anger
While a Master (Guru, Teacher) was on his way to River, to have his bath,
he finds his disciples shouting in anger at each other.
He turned to his disciples and asked them with a smile.
"Why do people shout in anger at each other?"
Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, "Because we lose our calm, and we shout."
Master said:
"But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you?
You can as well tell him, what you have to say, in a soft manner."
Disciples gave all different kinds of answers but none were satisfying.
Finally the Master explained:
"When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot.
To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other.
The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout, to hear each other, to cover that great distance."
What happens when two people fall in Love?
They don't shout at each other but talk Softly, because their hearts are very close.
The distance between them is either nonexistent or very small."
Master continued, "When they love each other even more, what happens?
They do not speak, only whisper, and they get even closer to each other in their love.
Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all.
That is how close two people are when they love each other."
He looked at his disciples and said:
"So when you argue, do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more,
If not, a day will come, when the distance gets so great, that you will not find the path to return."
Thus Anger is a quite natural common phenomenon, which is destructive,
and must be controlled and conquered by humans in order to bless humanity and mankind.

Wisdom: Building Positive Attitude !
Once the head-preacher teacher, instructed one of his young student followers on a spiritual path:
“For the course of next one year, give a coin to each person who offends or upsets you”.
For the next twelve months, the young man gave a coin to each person who offended or upset him, as he was instructed.
At the end of the year, he returned to the teacher to find out what was the next step.
“Go into town and buy food for me” the master responded.
Once the boy left, the master changed his clothes, disguised himself as a Beggar and went to the gate.
When the boy returned from town, the beggar began to insult him.
“Good” said the boy, “for a whole year I had to pay the people who upset or offended me, and now I can be offended for free, without spending anything”
Hearing this, the teacher removed his disguise, and said “He who does not take insults seriously, is on the path to wisdom.”

Why do we remember PAIN:
Happiness, Gentleness, Calmness is Human Nature, Compassion and Caring are very Critical for Human Growth. It is Not Possible for Human to be Healthy and Alive if they experience Constant Pain. That is why Pain and Frustrations are Negative Emotions which are Not Necessary for Human Growth. Thus Pain is Something Different than Human Nature. Thus we Usually remember the Pain because it is Something Other than Human Nature. Something Not Human, we can say. Thus Humans remember Pain because it is something different and an more intense emotion. Human would always want to be Happy, and never wants to be in Pain. That is why Happiness is quite Common phenomena, which humans are already inbuilt with. We can also say, human is possible only with happiness, but Pain is something external, and unnecessary. Anything which is Destructive and Not Constructive gives Pain. More over Humans also remember pain to be Cautious, Careful, to take Preventions, to avoid making mistakes.
